My little one is 5months old and will only fall asleep on the breast having milk. Is this a real bad thing and will I have a job to get him to sleep when he goes on to solids?
Have I created a really bad habit?

I think it is pretty normal but it might help to try to phase it out over time. Apart from anything else you want someone else to be able to get him to sleep! But even when you start him on solids the last feed before bed will be the last one to go I suppose.

I still feed my DS to sleep at night but not for naps. Could you try phasing it out for day time naps first maybe?

Normal, lovely and nothing wrong with it :)

Your baby's needs will change as he grows, in line with his development.

My dd1 used to fall asleep on the breast whilst feeding. She self weaned at 18mths, and she has self settled ever since.

NORMAL!!
I bf my baby to sleep until around a year. Sometimes (now 14 mo) he is still bf to sleep but often he wants daddy to read him a story and put him to bed instead. In fact daddy can put him to bed not quite asleep whereas there is no way he will let me leave until he is fast asleep!!!
You are doing fabulously but when you get a chance to go out do encourage daddy to find his own method to get LO to sleep. DH could put DS to sleep if I was out from about 4mo. I had to be out of the house though.
At around 6mo we started to use a babysitter every so often and she could also get DS to sleep.
So don't think you are causing problems for yourself because you are not. You are doing a fabulous job.

Thank you for replies. Glad to hear I'm not creating a problem.
