Dropping to one feed. Will this avoid mastitis?

I want to stop breastfeeding my 25 month old and have decided to drop from 3 (sometimes 4) feeds in 24 hours down to just the one. I am taking sage (following kellymoms dosage) to decrease my supply and also am feeding from just the one side, will swap to the other side the following day.

I really want to avoid mastitis, I've never had it and it sounds very painful. So do you think just feeding once will be enough to avoid it? Also what are the early warning signs and what to do about them so I can avoid a full blown infection as I want to avoid anti biotics as well.

Think the advice is to drop one feed every 2 weeks but you might be best talking to a BFC rather then a pissed old bird ont'internet Grin

Really? As slow as that. I am surprised, I would understand if the baby was younger and I was feeding often and had engorgement etc

Ok will see if I can find the bf number to phone.

The numbers are here. Probably is best to talk to someone who knows what they are talking about a BFC Smile
