I keep seeing things about children needing lots if cow's milk after they're one, but is this still the case if they're still breastfeeding, does anybody know please?

Oh very good question, I haven't even considered this, DS has never had cows milk to drink and he has been one for two weeks now. Worried!

No, they don't need cows milk exactly, they need calcium. They can get this calcium through yoghurt and cheese, milk in cereal and other foodstuffs without having to drink milk as a drink.

This is useful

So you need 350mg of calcium a day for a one year old. A slice of white bread contains 82mg, even a munch bunch yoghurt 122mg, so it's not really that hard to achieve.

Ah wonderful, thanks noble!

Given they have less calcium requirements than under-ones I'm sure bm and a balanced diet is fine. I thought cows milk was given as a bm substitute?
