Dd is 10mo, taking her swimming for first tine today and its just occurred to me, what if milk lets down while we're in the pool? It normally doesn't between feeds but does occasionally. Any magic tips to prevent that?

I don't think it will? Pools aren't warm like baths?

Otherwise maybe just a secret support cossies and use pressure from your arm or hand if you feel the milk coming.

Enjoy your swim.

I have never heard of this happening, but of course I suppose it could - what's the worst that could happen, though? A bit of milky cloudiness around you in the water which will just disperse with a few hand movements if you notice it, yes? You won't be leaking continuously :)

i doubt it will

feed her before you go in maybe?

Another vote for pressure. As soon as you feel the tingle, press firmly with the heel of your hand for a short while until it subsides.

I had let downs in every show bath etc for first five months but went swimming from 4 months and this never happened. Swimming costumes are quite tight and water is cool compared to a shower.

Thanks guys, I'll feed her before I go in, apply pressure if I get the tingle then swim off looking innocent if the worst happens :)

Yep, just apply pressure and don't worry about it. Think how many littlies pee in the pool, a few drops of breast milk won't cause any issues if they escape!!

Well the swim went without incident :) thanks for your advice everyone.
