Sharp shooting pains in one breast?

Looking for some advice as for a day or so I have been getting really sharp pains in my right breast. Feeding my 8wk old from that side doesn't get rid of the pain and it has been there pretty much constantly today. I can't see any red marks and feel well in myself also cannot see any white patches in dd's mouth. Any idea what it could be and what I can do to help? Also that side seems to produce more milk than the other. Is that normal and could it be evened up? Thanks

Could be thrush if they are shooting pains. There don't have to be white patches IIRC, sometimes pain is the only symptom. This article may be worth a read.

I'd definitely speak to a breastfeeding counsellor - you shouldn't have to be in pain.

Thrush would usually cause pain in both breasts. Blocked duct? Can you see a milk blister on the nipple which might be causing milk to back up? Can you feel any lumps in your breast?

Thank you for your suggestions. I mentioned the pain to the Gp at my dd's check up and he just said to keep an eye out for red patches and flu symptoms or thrush in her mouth. He said they wouldn't give me anything without other symptoms as Im bf.
Thankfully the pain seems to have gone away itself so could possibly have been a blocked duct but i didnt see any signs of that either!

Glad the pain has gone. When I've had blocked ducts in the past I don't get a lump straight away, just a sore bruised feeling so maybe you staved it off! Have a good w/end.
