Me again... I can't shift this blocked duct

I think I might have two on one side, either way the lump is nearly the size of my boob. I've pumped, I've fed, I've used heat and I've just skintight an hour in the bath sobbing massaging with my knuckles and a wide tooth comb and hand expressing. It's still there Sad I don't know what I'm going to do. Have also got a milk bleb on the other side which inevitably means I'm going to get a blockage that side too. I can't pierce it because it's flat. Tried scraping the skin but it just made me bleed around it. Ds won't want to feed for another three hours and when he does it'll be half heartedly Sad

Ooh meant to say about sleeping on your back - I'm sure I've brought the blocked ducts on by squashing my boobs at night!
Good luck!

That's how I got mastitis last time I woke up with my boob squashed between my body and the bed Blush

Oh Spotty I'm so sorry you're suffering again. Have you tried lecithin? It's supposed to help recurrent plugged ducts. You can buy it from the health food shop.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/07/2013 15:29

I've been taking that for a few days now, not sure I've been taking it long enough for it to take effect?

You might have to share this with a doc, to get yourself referred for ultrasound treatment.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/07/2013 15:36

I read that a couple of hours ago tiktok how long do you think I should leave it? Or do you think recurrent blocked ducts warrant investigation?

You deserve to be pain free and problem free; you have tried everything else. See doc tomorrow , I reckon.

Or if you have a walk-in centre open on a Sunday, go there....even A&E.

SpottyTeacakes · 21/07/2013 18:51

I think he's just cleared them Grin will have to wait and see what it's like in the morning if it's not clear I will definitely go to the doctors, thank you. I just wish I didn't keep getting them, if I ever mention it to anyone (HV/dr) I just get 'hmm yes' Hmm

Have you got an LLL or Baby Cafe in your area? might be worth talking to them as, unlike GPs, they actually know what they're talking about when it comes to bf

SpottyTeacakes · 21/07/2013 19:27

No nothing like that. There's a feeding group alternate Mondays but it's in town seven miles away 11:30-1 and dd goes to nursery in the same town 9-3 so I would have to go there and back four times in one day. I do know the peer support worker there but, as lovely as she is, I've had far better advice on here. There's literally nothing around here. There isn't a lactation consultant in the area either. I kind of feel like no one's that bothered or really has any answers because ds is almost eight months and most problems occur in the first few weeks...

How are you doing now? Shame you're not near me, I'd drag you along to my bf gurus and get you sorted in no time x

SpottyTeacakes · 22/07/2013 16:10

I'm good thanks, all clear, just a bit tender. It's really awful for bf support round here. There's a private LC but I can't afford that. When I finally got to take ds home, at two weeks old having been tube fed for the first week and a half, I phoned the bf lady who did the bf class, and who I thought helped once the baby was born as was told we could contact them any time, only to be told that as I had been discharged from mw they couldn't help me Hmm
