Hello
I wonder if anyone has any advice or similar problems? First time poster but frequent watcher here.
I have red raw rings on my nipples, basically where my daughter latches as far as I can work out. We ve been fine after rocky start. I m stuck feeding to sleep but its been pain free.... Now I wince/cry/get grumpy that I can't get things to 'work' and its been two plus weeks of sore sensitive boobs.
I can't stop feeding in the night as dd up three or four times still. That's when things get worse (dark/sleepy etc etc) unfortunately.
Have some old ficidin at home I think and I can't get to the drs. Shall I try it? What can I do with latch? Im trying to do wide mouth, tongue out etc but not much success. I can't get to a feeding clinic til next thurs as we re travelling. i'm dreading the week ahead as each time things look as if they're healing the skin gets sloughed off next feed.
Sorry this is a ramble.

It sound like you have thrush to me. I got it for the first time when DS was about the same age and it was exactly as you describe.

Hi SolomanDaisy
thanks for your reply.
The red bits are literally like her 'mouth print' if you see what I mean. Was that the same? How did you fix it? Drs?

Yes, it was exactly like that. I thought the same as you for ages, it was only when DS developed oral thrush that I realised and went to the Dr. If your DD doesn't have it you can treat yourself with canesten, the pain goes really quickly.

Gonna try telephone appt tomorrow I think or do I really need to go in myself? Just so awkward with our dr, I basically just have to go and sit from 8-10 to be seen. Not great for work!

My Dr wanted to see us, but we're not in the UK and they're quite strict about medication here. Hopefully they'll just give you a prescription over the phone.
