can I feed my baby pink milk?

My DD is 6 months and keeps biting me :(
She has nicked my nipple and drawn blood earlier today. I've been expressing and giving a bottle now and then so that I can leave her with someone else and tonight I gave her a bottle before bed so I went to express off the side I would have fed her from to make myself comfortable before bed. This is the side she has bitten and when I started expressing the milk was pink. In hindsight I should have ditched the first bit and carried on but I didn't. I've now got a bottle of very pale pink milk. My instinct says that this will be okay as she would have ingested my blood if she had had a feed from the breast but I would have been unaware of it. So should I ditch the milk or will it be okay? I know my DH will be bleurgh about it.

You are completely right - she would have had the blood if she'd fed directly from the breast, and it won't hurt her from the bottle.

thanks HappyAs!

Yup, it will be fine.

When this sort of thing happens, sometimes the baby throws back up the blood. So be aware - if she throws up blood any time soon, odds are, it is your blood.

There are some things you can do, to cut down on the biting ...

do share the tips NotQuite :)
This is third baby and I've always found it's worst just as they are cutting a tooth and the second one is just through now and no biting today so hopefully we are over the worst.
She is getting very distracted at feeding time and I try and watch her like a hawk to look for signs that she is nearly finished. Thing is she is not really taking to solid food so I want to make sure she is getting enough milk so don't want to stop the feed prematurely IYKWIM

It sounds like you're already doing a pretty good job at it. This page has some ideas, too.

Don't be alarmed if you notice her nappy is a lot darker and has a coffee gradual type appearance

Thanks. Haven't noticed any change in poo and she took the pinkish bottle, well most of it. I do admit to squealing when she bites and none of mine have ever had a nursing strike as a result but until the next teeth come we seem to be doing okay again :)
