I've just had one glass of Pimms in our garden on a lovely summers evening. That is ok isn't it?!

So have I! I think it's fine

WhyIRayLiotta · 30/06/2013 19:51

Yes it is. Just don't drink the whole jug!

coffeeandcream · 30/06/2013 20:02

Yes it's absolutely fine.

A mum I know suggested if you feel tipsy, baby will also feel the effects so to speak! A bit of an uncertain way to make a decision so take with a pinch if salt!

You'd have to be absolutely wasted for the amount of alcohol in your bloodstream/milk to approach a level that would affect the baby. Falling down, passing out drunk.

A blood alcohol level of 0.10 means it's 1 tenth of 1% alcohol - and that is pretty drunk. Alcohol free beer is half of 1% alcohol.

StealthPolarBear · 30/06/2013 20:11

Really really dont do it. You can spill your drink. Much better to wait until the baby's done and you can stretch out and relax. Unless it's the first few weeks and you're on a permanent feeding routine in which case I recommend a bottle of champagne and a straw

mrsbugsywugsy · 30/06/2013 20:15

Grin stealth

it's so embarrassing when you see the health visitor and your baby has wine stains on their babygrow

dyslexicdespot · 30/06/2013 20:18

StealthPolar and mrsbugs, I laughed so hard I spilled my entire glass of wine of DS head!

Startail · 30/06/2013 20:23

I never worried about the odd glass.
I'm not one to drink more than 1/2 a bottle of wine ever and DD2 fed until she was big enough that wouldn't matter.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 30/06/2013 21:39

I never worried at all. And I can count the amount of times I've been falling down drunk on, oo, two hands Wink
