I will try and think about that next time dd2 clamps down on my nipple with her pit bull bite!

Interesting study. Good to see evidence based research supporting breastfeeding

Yes - I caught Prof Robert Winston talking about this new research on This Morning, and thought it was very interesting. I BF both of my DC so am pleased to hear more about it's social and developmental benefits, as well as it's more generally known nutritional and health benefits.
I looked through to see if there was a thread on it and found you here.

Wondering if it could perhaps be moved to chat as of wide interest to MNetters and so topical today (with research just out) ?
What do you think MNHQ ?!

fanjobiscuits · 26/06/2013 11:44

It doesn't give details about how long/frequent bf was. Anyone know where to find more details?

EauRouge · 26/06/2013 12:45

I think there is a thread about this in AIBU, going the same way that BF threads in AIBU usually go.

full paper
adc.bmj.com/content/early/2013/04/24/archdischild-2012-303199.full

it was never breastfed, fed for less than 4 weeks and for more than 4 weeks

JugglingFromHereToThere · 26/06/2013 14:54

Thanks sleepstarved - very interesting though a bit tricky to understand as it's a proper research paper.

fanjobiscuits · 26/06/2013 17:41

Thanks sleepstarved

obviously not cumulative. I was breastfed, all my children were breastfed,so were my grandchildren. So how come none of my granddaughters have married a prince!
