Why do I feel so irritable when I feed him sometimes? My body aches and I initiate unlaching a lot. He goes crazy. I'm ready to stop, he's no way near. Help please......

Maybe breastfeeding aversion? Completely natural, I get it too, especially when I feel I am ready to reduce bf but DD at 22 months has other ideas....

Yy feeding aversion/nursing aversion, could be. Very normal around this age. You could start introducing "nursing manners", conditions (e.g. no nipple twiddling or you stop the feed) or restrict to certain times of day ifyyou want to make things more bearable for you without stopping. I'm afraid I don't gave any actual advice on stopping - between 18 months and 3 is probably the hardest age.

That's it! It especially happens when tired hungry (body trying to conserve resources. It doesn't make me a bad mum, right?

No, it makes you a human! It's perfectly normal to just think sometimes 'gah! Geroff!'. If you haven't read it then I recommend a book called Mothering Your Nursing Toddler. It's got loads of info and stories about the ups and downs of breastfeeding a toddler, and some ideas for weaning if you decide you've had enough.

It's hard at this stage because they are definitely turning into a toddler rather than being a little baby who just sits still and gets on with it. It's no uncommon to end up with a bottom or feet in your face while your little gymnast is feeding. How much you put up with is up to you. It doesn't make you a bad mother to get pissed off with having your nipples pulled around!

That's really helpful. Will certainly have a look at that book on the kindle!

It can be hormonal, but not necessarily pregnancy- some mothers find they really go off BF when they are pre-menstrual.

Aargh, the twiddling. I never managed to get ds1 to stop twiddling, ever.

So, with ds2, I vowed that I would not allow him to twiddle.

He doesn't twiddle

Instead he pokes his finger in my belly button Hmm

Ds just bites and laughs!Shock
