Vomiting up lumps of gavison 12 hours after dose

11 week old dd is bf but has gaviscon mixed with water to the consistency it says on the packet. Today she had her dose in the morning but no other ones as we had been out and about all day. This evening she has vomited up lumps of gaviscon with milk - its like porridge! Does this usually happen such a long time after? If I had given her all the doses what would her insides be like?!

No experience with gaviscon sorry. If she has been diagnosed with reflux, has she been checked for tongue tie too?

I am looking into a diagnosis but not sure who to contact as gp has just asked if she can stick out her tongue which she can but I've only seen it once. She has never lifted her tongue and there is about 0.5cm from tip of her tongue to the frenulum, does this mean a PTT or just a short tongue?

Milk matters do an online diagnosis service, or you can go along to one of your local bfing support groups and ask the BFC. You can also contact your local lll group (probably a good option as its the weekend).

In the meantime I'd try some breast compressions and hopefully someone will be along soon to give some more information on getting a diagnosis or some more experience of tt Smile

In the meantime it might be worth googling pictures of upper lip tie and seeing if that could be an option too.

I took her to gp yesterday and she said there is no tongue tie but she just shined her light in her mouth. I'm still not convinced she hasn't got a PTT. She has referred to paeds anyway and she said I could ask them to check also. Thanks for the milk matters info jilted.

Its good that your GP has referred you and that they are taking you seriously, however I wouldn't wait until the hospital appointment to get it checked again, perhaps give the la Leche league number a cals or go along to your local bfing support group this week.
