Problem with latch?

Hi yet again,

I am ff and ebf my baby girl and have been offering her the breast and she takes bits and pieces from the breast. I want her to get back into breastfeeding again. But my problem is I don't think she is taking enough in. As in, most of the aerola is still visible. Now my aerola is quite large and I am not sure if it is too big - but she keeps making a clicking noise when I put the breast in her mouth when she is sucking. It doesn't hurt me and it doesn't seem to bother her but I can't imagine it is getting much out nor is it helping with the production of more milk.

I was wondering what I am doing wrong. I do try putting it in further, but she doesn't seem to want to open her mouth wider than that, or maybe she can't.

I feel a bit hopeless to be honest.

Any advice would be helpful. :)

Don't worry, if she's not getting enough she'll let you know! If she's clicking she might be taking in air though.
Best thing to do is go to the nearest breast feeding support group as someone needs to see you feed to see if she's latched on properly. If you don't know where your nearest one is ask your midwife, hv or nearest children's centre.

Hope you find the help you need x

Would be

I give her 2 or 3 expressed breast milks a day.

I breastfeed her and think she gets an ounce or two (unsure, hard to tell but she leaves an ounce or two of formula feed) before each formula feed, so she gets the good stuff first.

Yes, she has a dummy sometimes, but mainly when sleeping - not keen on it otherwise.

She's 8 weeks old so still a good time to keep things going. I have been doing it since 2 weeks, as she wasn't putting on enough weight and seemed very hungry. She wasn't premature but I had pre eclampsia so think she may have had a bit of a weak digestive system at the start, but it seems to be better now, albeit sometimes suffering with wind.
