I have a question. I am starting to pick up BF toiletries before the little one arrives. Any suggestions. I have a couple of tubes of nipple cream but nipple pads a must? Anything else?

Anyone wondering about getting fitted for nursing bras, have a look at your local nct website as they have well trained volunteer fitters all over the country, who can fit you often in your own home (Sometimes in their homes) or with your antenatal group. You do not have to be a member of the nct and there is no obligation to buy. They do usually have a selection of bras to try though and can order them for you (useful if, like me, you live in the arse end of nowhere without a JL or even M&S).

I was warned away from getting mothercare to fit nursing bras, although presumably if you were properly fitted you could buy them in there.

I never used any bf "toiletries" apart from vaseline, but I got through hundreds of breast pads with DD1 until I discovered washable ones which were a brilliant investment, and then with DD2 I got some Lillypadz which are sillicone and amazing. I actually sometimes use them under a "no bra" type top or dress just to avoid nipple exposure!

Good luck to all the expectant mums!

Bravado Seamless Silk bras are awesome. You can get them from NCT or John Lewis. They are stretchy and come in SML sizes rather than different cup sizes. In the first few weeks I went up and down cup sizes every other day, but these bras stayed comfortable.

nanerema That's what the nct fitting lady said to me - my bravado bra was amazing for the early days and then on any uncomfy days and definitely at night time. I got a bravado before DD2 was born and then got properly fitted a few weeks later after it had settled down a bit.

Re: pads, don't stock up! I did and didn't need them after the first month. Ended up giving them all to a friend, didn't even finish one box. Buy one and send someone out if you need more.

You'll probably not need more than a small sample size tube of lanisoh. I have two barely used full size ones! I use them on my lips now!

I found lanisoh cream amazing! But like others I only used half of one tube (the other 3 have been useful for babyshower gifts!) Grin.... I'm still using breastpads daily at 6 months and bought some washable bamboo ones from little lamb, they're more absorbent and comfortable (not sweaty!) than disposables! Would recommend highly if you're still using them after your first few weeks.
