Giving up breast feeding

Ok I've had enough. Ds is a year old. But I have no clue about how much milk he should be getting and he hates formula.
Can I go onto cow's milk? If so how much?
And will he hate me? He is a determined little bugger, this is going to be a battle...

Thanks in advance

I fed my DD until she was 13 months and went straight on to cow's milk.
I dropped feeds gradually and replaced them with other things if I could ie mealtime feeds replaced with cup of milk with her meal, mid-afternoon/morning feed replaced by drink and a snack (yogurt/cheese sandwich/etc)
Last one to go was the early morning one, I just had to get up and give her breakfast rather than staying in bed feeding.
Hardest one to give up was the mid-morning one after her bath because we used to snuggle up, me usually still in my dressing gown, her in a towel and it was lovely.
I'd say work out which ones will be easiest to drop and do them first, working towards the hardest one. And make sure you do LOTS of fun things that involve cuddles so neither of you loses out on the closeness.

I think the recommendations are 20fl oz milk a day but it doesn't all have to be in liquid form.
And he won't hate you.

Good luck
