This is normal right?

DS2 seems to have drained me dry, he's a day off three weeks and I've noticed him being fussy at the breast like he can't get anything out.

I know logically that he's probably on a growth spurt, but the fussiness is new to me. Tell me he literally hasn't drained me dry.

No, he hasn't, he is presumably feeding a lot to get supply up.

He would be screaming his head off if he was hungry, not being fussy.

I know it is hard to trust but don't worry as long as he is alert and you're changing nappies all is well.

Yup. Is he being fussy in the late afternoon/early evening? I called this "the witching hour" except DS was fussy from 4:00pm to almost exactly 7:15pm initially ...

I am having the same thing - fussing, pulling back with nipple still in mouth, mammoth feeding sessions for hours. I am at 6.5 weeks (witht twins!) and it still happens some evenings. Hang in there, read up about fussing on the kellymom website and eat more chocolate!

Yes, bang on tea time and he's off fussing and generally being a bit of a pain and starts cluster feeding.

Thank you for the reassurance, I did this with ds1 but time and sleep has dulled the memory I expect.
