Has anyone used this? It's down from £99 to £65 in mothercare at the moment, wondered how it compares to the others?

Thanks

I used this and would recommend... it got heavily used when I went back to work, I was always pleased with it.

I bought it a few months ago, it was down to £50 in tesco direct (maybe check if it still is) i haven't had a problem with it but it's the only electrc one I've used.

NoTeaForMe · 23/03/2013 17:25

Thanks, I've just looked and it's £99.99 at tesco.

There's a few customer reviews - they pretty much all say how it's really noisy and the suction isn't as good as the medela/avent. Did you find it noisy? Not great suction?

I wouldn't waste your money to be honest - I did, and I regret it. It depends how often you intend on using it, but there's far better pumps out there.

I find the Tommee Tippee pump to be very slow and noisy. I use it now and it takes me around 35 minutes to get 5oz. It also makes a very loud honking noise which is quite embarrassing when I'm expressing at work.
As I was exclusively expressing for the first 10 weeks with DS, spending upwards of half an hour expressing every three hours just wasn't sustainable, so I hired a Medela from the local children's centre. The suction was far stronger, it was virtually silent and I got 9 or 10 oz of milk out in 10 minutes. No comparison!

I also don't know if the Tommee Tippee is ever really on sale for the £100 it advertises. I paid £65 when I bought it last year and really wish I hadn't bothered. I can get the same amount of milk out with my £17 Boots hand pump in less time.
There are far, far better electric ones available, and IMO it's barely better than a basic hand pump.

It's always on offer for a reason! Agree that it's slow and noisy, and they break easily. I went through 3.

NoTeaForMe · 23/03/2013 23:37

Oh dear! OK, what pump would people recommend? Not heavy use, (ie purely expressing/going back to work). Hopefully will be breastfeeding the majority. It's just about expressing for a feed a day after baby is settled. That's the ideal for us I think. Who knows though, would it be better to see how I get on this time and then get a pump if needed. I had kind of thought I would do that and then saw the TT on offer so it changed my mind. But if I'm not getting that one maybe I should wait?

However, do think I'll eventually get one and then I'll still need to know which one to get...so, recommendations please!

Gosh, that's the ramblings of a mad woman!

I'd recommend he Ameda Lactaline any day. Have you checked out the Mn reviews OP?

If you've not had Lo yet though I'd wait and see how things work out before you part with your cash. If its just for an odd feed you will probably be able to hand express, a mw can show you how. You may even be able to collect leaked milk into breast shells.

There are lots of 2nd hand pumps on ebay. If you do go for one, try to choose a pump with a closed system.

The reviews are here Smile

I love my spectra 3 which was recommended on here. It's a good, cheap double when you but the conversion kit.

I also love my medela swing if I only need to do one boob
