According to presenter Sadie Nine on BBC Essex Radio they should, "it might be a bit uncomfortable, but at least we wouldn't be able to see them".

In a discussion about dogs not being allowed in a local cafe.

sigh

another ridiculous comment

no one actually thinks this, do they? She is just trying to be controversial but sounding like a twat

SPBInDisguise · 14/03/2013 13:52

Really? I can't believe someone actually said that!

ChunkyChicken · 14/03/2013 13:52

No. Obviously.

Ignore anyone that says otherwise until they grow up....

I don't expect this sort of utter tosh on the BBC.

Was she being sarcastic? I can't believe anyone actually thinks that.

piprabbit · 14/03/2013 14:07

I don't think she was being sarcastic. She often says off stuff about women (especially parents).

I love seeing anyone bfing their baby when I'm out. It reminds me of all those cuddles.

EauRouge · 14/03/2013 16:28

She could shut her eyes. Then she also wouldn't be able to see me giving her the finger.

5madthings · 14/03/2013 16:34

Fgs what crap! Is there are fb/twitter or email linked with the radio show so we can complain?!!

AmandaPayne · 14/03/2013 16:42

Daily Fail style 'provocative' idiocy. Ignore. Ignore.

BinarySolo · 14/03/2013 16:47

Grin @ EauRouge

I have bf my ds on the loo, but it was when he was tiny and needed feeding and I was desperate for a wee! In public, I'll strike a balance between not showing off my body, but not hiding away like its some sort of freakshow.

TeWiSavesTheDay · 14/03/2013 16:59

Ah, just ignore 'em.

I think most people who make this kind of comment haven't bf or lived with someone who has.

You'd have the world's sorest bum and be bored as hell, the amount of hours you'd end up spending in the loo! I think the other people actually wanting to have a wee might be a bit miffed when you're in there for an hour too...

LeonardoAcropolis · 14/03/2013 17:43

BBC Essex is utter utter drivel. I cannot stand it and I once hurt my leg leaping across the room to switch off the bloody Dave bloody Monk show. I'm not surprised that such views are on that shoddy station and I will be surprised if there is something as advanced as Twitter or Facebook for it.

mamaonion · 14/03/2013 19:28

She sounds vile- I think it would be better if she took her coffee and cake to the toilet!

Loislane78 · 14/03/2013 20:30

Well I'd rather leave and find another more discerning establishment than have me or my DD eat anywhere near that stupid woman.

NickyNackyNooNoo · 14/03/2013 20:57

In a word....NO

Silly woman & I'm not going to waste any more words on her.

IncrediblePhatTheInnkeepersCat · 14/03/2013 21:04

Maybe she should ask the restaurant to serve her in a cubicle so she doesn't have to see such sights.

Jojobump1986 · 14/03/2013 21:06

I think it would be better if she took her coffee and cake to the toilet!

This. Anyone who's happy for a baby to have to eat in the toilet should be willing to do the same!

TiredyCustards · 15/03/2013 06:41

Was this on yesterday? (14th)could you give an approx time so I can isten on the iPlayer? I get the feeling I won't want to hear the whole thing!

She sounds like a douche, but this is actually really damaging stuff to have on the BBC, and will reinforce ignorant attitudes.

exoticfruits · 15/03/2013 06:46

I agree with the rest- she ought to be the one who eats in the toilet if she has a problem with it.

Zara1984 · 15/03/2013 17:43

Good grief what a moronic thing to say, and on the radio too! I reckon she was saying it for shock jock/stirring value, in real life I have never heard anyone say anything so ludicrous!

piprabbit · 15/03/2013 19:20

Gosh - thanks for all your replies.
It was on yesterday (Thursday 14th). The show seems to be on for hours, I think it was about 20min into the start of the programme.
