My DS2 has had gastroenteritis and had stopped eating solids now he is starting to eat again he keeps biting when it comes to nursing his last BF was at 5am and he would normally have had 3 more. He may be teething as well and has bitten me in the past but never refused the breast he just clamps then bites and starts screaming at me when I pull him off. I need to express now and will see if he will take a bottle of DP. Could it be he is full as after eating too much?

Hi Jilted after he was screaming for most of the night and several attempts at feeding then trying expressed milk in a cup and bottle we ended up giving him so mashed banana on a spoon and he couldn't get enough so I called my GP to rule out any problems and it turns our he has an ear infection in both ears probably caused by the virus from gastroenteritis, my GP is a mum BF an 11 mo so very understanding. He is now on antibiotics and had some Milk in a sippy cup at lunch and tea and then feed this evening for the first time in 36 hours I nearly cried Smile I don't think I have ever felt so relieved i just felt really helpless (dramatic I know, probably the lack of sleep).

Not dramatic, I'd said it was perfectly understandable. So glad things are improving for you. You deserve Wine, Thanks and a big sleep.

Not dramatic at all. I totally get how you feel. My DS went off solids completely for over 1 week when he was 12 months. He would only have my milk. When I finally saw him put food into his mouth I could cry. I stupidly thought that day would never come again. Now, this is dramatic, not you! Smile

Bimba they do that later too. Dd has been ill recently and survived on fruit strings and flat cola for a week. I think after 9 years of being a mum you realise its just a passing thing though and once she felt better shed eat again, which she did Smile
