My daughter has recently had a S&D bug. Still coming off it. But has literally gone of breast milk. Well just hardly feeding as opposed to having about 4 feeds (7am-bed) and she's also been throwing up as I'm feeding or just after. Seems like she's in pain in her tummy. And teething. Is this still the bug?

I've also had a period early. But very unlikely to be pregnant (change in milk)

She just seems really annoyed and angry when I try to feed. And it's making me quite sad and also very emotional as its very sore. Zo had mastitis with my first and I do not want it again. I'm trying everything to help prevent it but all I want is my baby loving her feeds again like she usually does. Hmm

first of all, don't force her to feed

you may have to pump for a couple of days, to keep up supply and avoid mastitis

you could try giving her the expressed milk in a cup

if she is poorly, then just go with whatever she wants at the mo

she may well come back to the breast with no problem in a few days.

I think teeth is the main thing. It seems she wants to feed as she seems hungry but just too painful to feed with her teeth coming. She cut her first one last week.

I hand expressed 3oz earlier. But ouch it's so sore

If you think its teeth, try her with ibuprofen, its much better for dental pain than paracetamol. You might also want to try her with a teething gel, like Dentinox, before offering solids or bfing.

I'd also cut out any dairy from her diet for a couple of days as it can irritate the stomach.

Have you tried giving her a clean, cold, wet flannel to chew on? I'd usually suggest a frozen banana and some big chunks of cool cucumber but you might want to wait until she's stopped vomiting. Are you worried about dehydration at all? Have you tried her with an ice lolly? I've even heard of people making ice lollies out of BM in these circumstances but never tried it myself probably because I'd never thought of it

I'd also give one of the bfing lines a call and talk through starting periods, Lo illness, reluctance to nurse and avoiding mastitis with her. Have you got the numbers?
