Looking for advice have a white tiny spot on nipple been there for a week feels very sore and is painful when dd latches on, no red patches on breast or lumps.

Have googled, looked at KellyMom, talked to peer to peer supporter, health visitor and midwife and think it is milk blister. Has anyone had one what did yours look like and how did you get rid of it?

Have tried Epsom salt soak, olive oil to soften, hot baths, hot flannels, lots of feeding dif positions, scraping with nail and even (gulp) poking with sterilised needle but has not shifted it. Rubbed with flannel this morning

Should I try GP I imagine they will have no clue what I am talking about? HV said to leave it to resolve self? worried that it might cause other problems though like mastitis ?

I had one for a good 4 weeks that has just spontaneously resolved. It was agony so you have my sympathy. You're doing all the right things. I also pulled at the blockage with a pair of tweezers after dd had fed on that side if there was something there to grab into.

Try feeding on that side first, too. Baby nurses more vigourously on the first side.

I've had a couple too: apparently some people are prone to them. They are really painful, so lots of sympathy!

Lecithin really helps: 1200mg capsule 3 times a day. With my last one, I started taking the capsules after a week of pain, and then it took just a a couple of days to resolve (I also continued to always nurse on that side first), .

Just realised what I said was a bit unclear! I mean I continued to nurse on that side first until it resolved - not long term.

Good luck!
