DD2 is 5 wks and ebf. She was feeding more or less every 2.5/3 hours during the day and 4 at night but in the past few days she's started crying in obvious pain after a couple of hours and filling her nappies loudly with lots of farting. Then she's ready for another feed.

DD1 (28 months) has dairy/egg allergies and I was wondering whether this might be an indication of some intolerance in DD2. Or could it just be a phase in her digestive system's development? Should I be cutting something out of my diet to see or just give it time?

Thanks for any tips...

Just wanted to say, you are not alone! DC4 here, at 5 wks ebf, gone from feeding as you describe with you LO to all this crying/swirming etc at night for a good while for the past two nights. She has been feeding more this week too so maybe a growth spurt? I vaguely remember this happening before with the others so hoping it's just a phase! I thought I would spend a good bit of time winding her before bed tonight to see how that goes.

Will watch the thread with interest to see if anyone has any suggestions! Smile

thanks mammy - it's nice to know we're not alone Smile

yes, I was wondering about a growth spurt too, and she's not good at burping after feeds always, so it's like the wind goes right through her system (no idea if that is anatomically possible...)

I just hate seeing her in pain. Any other suggestions out there?

I have same problem with my 7 week old. Gets particularly bad at night, as she is so sleepy after feeding I find it hard to get wind out of her. I posted a thread on here called 'winding sleepy baby' but every night is the same at the moment. She sleeps ok in her cot until she feeds at about 1am. After that the wind makes her very unsettled. It's making her daytime sleep tricky too as she'll often settle for nap then wake up in disomfort.

Have been using infacol (when I remember) but no drastic change. Am also trying to limit my dairy intake. Will watch & wait for answers!

Try stretches and leg cycling to get bottom wind out. Ds was awful for ages - used to spend ages screaming til he was red and sweating. He has now mostly grown out of it (6 months).

I recently posted the stretches 'routine' that we did with him on the 'keeping awake pt7' thread. Hth Smile
