Tell me about your favourite breastfeeding bra

and breast feeding vest.

I've made some bloody terrible purchases so far so doing some MN market research before I waste any more money.

So far I've bought Mamas & Papas breast feeding vest tops and they are crap quality. It was a 3 for 2 offer and I still feel like I was completely robbed. I've also got the Anita bras. I had them last time and they were fine. This time round though they are agony and the underwire feels like a lump of concrete under my armpit. I have chaffing and given up wearing them.

So, your best bra please! Comfort is the most important thing but it wouldn't hurt if the bra actually looked like it belonged to someone who might actually have sex one day. My bras look like I went back in time and bought it in the 1940s and was approved by nuns.

I have a lovely breast feeding vest by Emma Jane - but it was pricey at £21 so anything supportive and cheaper?

My favourite is a blooming marvelous (that's the brand name, but it is!) From mothercare. It's pretty, bra-sized, and doesn't go a weird shape once your breastpads get s bit wet. Perfect!

Jojo maman do good vest tops with feeding clips. Nice and supportive. I know not cheap but worth it I think.

I treated myself to an Amoralia underwired bra from figleaves when I got fed up of the saggy cotton non-wired ones I'd bought in Mothercare before having DD. Considering I had to guess wildly at my new sizing, it fits pretty well... and it was so nice to be back in underwired finally.

Since then though I've discovered nursing bra conversion kits (on Ebay and elsewhere) and have 'made' several breastfeeding bras after raiding the clearance rail at TKMaxx for a fraction of the cost of the Amoralia one!

No bra advice, I really must get some new ones (will be stealing ideas from this thread!) but re vests the ones I live in are the Primark stretchy vests . They are amazing, really stretchy so just pull down to feed, keep their shape, wash well and dry quickly. They cost about £2.50! I have loads of black, white and nude. Looking forward to getting more colourful ones when the summer stock is in store. They are way better than my expensive breast feeding vests.

Another massive vote for bravado seamless silk. SO comfortable.

I love the Bravado ones- so comfy I'll be sad to get rid of them when I stop bf. the seamless silk one is so comfy but my new favourite is the bliss. It gives really great shape, doesn't show above low cut tops too much and feels pretty supportive.

Bodysilk Bravado one....in leopard print! Makes you feel good :)

Check out Boob (google boob design or you will get a load of porn). I got loads from them, including a pregnancy / breastfeeding fleece. So good.

Panache Sophie in black/nude and in pink/white. For sleeping a carriwell seam free bra. I'm now a 30FF and both of those bras are lovely. The panache one is v sexy :) and supportive.

For vest tops. M and S do stretchy string strap vest tops in the lingerie department, 2 for £8. You can wear them under a normal top and they are stretchy enough to pull down comfortably for a feed. Less hassle also than undoing two sets of clips.
I second hot milk bras and I have also liked Royce bras in a style called Charlotte.

Kind of expensive for half a vest, but I bought 3 and wear them every day. They keep the mummy tummy covered and warm, and you don't have to buy gross nursing tops - just keep wearing all your regualr tops over them.
The panache Sophie bra is really nice, and the Hot Milk ones are very comfy.

I've got mine from figleaves.com in their sale shop. The make is HotMilk. Pretty, lacy, nice colours so I don't feel too frumpy. Also well designed to be supportive on breasts changing size a bit.

Presently wearing over night as well as day as easier to bf and still very comfortable. I'm a 36dd so the design is important or I can't get a grip on them to feed well x

Got two, hotmilk and cake lingerie. Got them from local bra shop.

Many thanks to all the tips on this thread - just got measured and bought an Anita underwired (really comfy and looks great) and have ordered a couple more Anitas and a Bravado Bliss online. Begone, old tatty stretched-out nursing bras!
