TT petition I'm so pleased that someone has done this - it is an issue that is very close to my heart, since my DS was unable to BF due to a tongue-tie that wasn't corrected until he was 14 weeks old, 12 weeks after he was first refered. It is also likely to be responsible for his silent reflux.

Just signed it as my DD had tt and after being told by 3 Midwives at home and 2 bf support workers that she did not have tt she was finally diagnosed at 4 weeks by our wonderful Infant Feeding Co-ordinator.

I can't believe how little knowledge there seems to be of it by people who are supposed to be pro bf. One of the bf support workers told me afterwards when I complained that she was there to identify not diagnose (what is the bloody difference??!!) and the other said she didn't actually know how to spot posterior tt - how on earth did she think it was ok then to tell me DD didn't have one?

This still makes me angry after 10 months because of all the missed diagnosis posibilities. My worry is that if I was to have another baby no one would notice again and I would be left to suffer in pain or I just wouldn't be able to trust/believe anyone who told me they didn't have tt.

Signed. DS had/has a ridiculously thick tie which has been snipped on numerous occasions but keeps growing back. We managed to feed to a year, with some mix feeding to begin with due to his tongue tie being missed for weeks, and him losing a frankly scary amount of weight. He's also going to need a lip tie separation at some point as he has a gap in his teeth due to it.

DD had a sneaky posterior tie which was snipped far earlier than DS because as a second time mum I knew there was a tie, despite numerous health care professionals stating there was not. We are exclusively breastfeeding, despite a horrible start - peer supporter said my day 5 nipples were the worst she'd ever seen. They were in tatters. She also has a lip tie which I think is going to need revised as it is identical to DS's.
