Newborn with a heavy cold - change in poo?

Dd (14 days today!) has a horribly heavy cold, and is swallowing a lot of mucus :( since getting it, her poo has been very mucusy, and slightly greener. Google tells me this is normal with a virus, but would love some real mum reassurance.

Have been to docs and all they said was it was a cold. We were finally getting to grips with everything as she has a posterior tonguetie snipped on Wednesday - and now this.

Poo is still seedy, just greener and as I said, mucusy. Lots of wet nappies as well. Midwife isn't in until Monday for a weighing.

She's also not as hungry as she was, but I'm unsure if that's because she's now more efficient at feeding due to the tie being cut, the cold reducing her appetite, or the fact that she had the 10 day growth spurt right on schedule, so I got used to her feeding constantly (and I mean constantly).

On advice of the infant feeding coordinator who cut the tie, I'm double pumping after the feeds I can to ensure milk supply is protected/increased whilst she sorts herself out with the tie division and the cold.

Hi bunty, my LO had a cold a few weeks back & her poo went all weird like you're describing. As long as she's not dehydrated (her fontanelle isn't sunken & she's doing wet nappies as well as pooey ones) then she's getting enough milk so I wouldn't worry too much. At 8 weeks babies tend to settle down into more of a routine & become more efficient at emptying the boob. If you're concerned though, speak to your MW/HV or Gp. Hope she's better soon x
