Can you mix feeds in cups?

I've finally found a cup that my 7 month old can use (Avent magic cup) after buying every cup under the sun. He drinks water very well out of it, and I'm trying to get him to use it for milk. Avent suggest that mixing feeds in their cups is inadvisable as it might clog the valve. I've strted using ready made milk because of this, but this is more expensive and now I've got something else to buy. Has anyone got any advice on this?

Mix up a jug full in the morning and just top the cup up when you need it.

Or mix it in an old bottle and transfer it.

Thank you, that's a brilliant idea. Should I still be boling water and sterilising everything as well?

Probably not necessary at 7 months as long as you are going to use the milk straight away. If you are storing the milk in en it might be worth sterilising still.

Sometimes my DD will have a beaker of formula for bed, if she hasn't eaten too well during the day.

I do mix her formula in her avent magic cup. Haven't had a problem with it.

When you first put the powder in, try shaking it from side to side first before shaking it up and down - this should stop and milk clogging the valve.

HTH - not very scientific, I know!
