Just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar position and how you got through it. I don't intend on stopping bf dd (who's 20mo) unless it gets really unbearable as she loves it so much, but she seems to suddenly be feeding loads again. She seems to spend half the day saying 'muh!' or 'more muh!', and flat out refuses other drinks, except maybe a few sips here and there (previously she used to drink other things quite well). Could it be that the milk's changing/reducing already and she's noticed something's changed? Despite feeding lots her nappies aren't as wet as I'd expect (hence trying lots of other drinks - she's constipated at the moment as well).

Nursing feels tender and a bit sore at the moment, not too bad but irritating. I've always fed on demand when practical, but am wondering if this is still the right thing to do now. I also suspect part of the reason for demanding milk is that we're less busy as I'm feeling a bit tired and sick, and she maybe senses I'm not my usual energetic self...?

I'm wondering what on earth is going to happen when the milk turns to colostrum later on. Has anyone here been through this and can offer reassurance/advice?

Haven't got much advice sorry. When I was going through the same thing my DS was older and I decided to wean. la Leche League do a book which I think may be called adventures in tandem feeding, if you get in touch with your local leader they might have a copy Xmas Smile

Thanks. I will try to borrow that book on the quiet next time I go to an LLL meet (don't really want to tell everyone yet as it's early days!) thanks for reminding me about it.
