Thrush? Blocked duct? Blister?

Hi there
Dd is nearly 11 months and we have had a pretty hassle free bf experience. Up till now...I have a white blistery bump on the end of rh nip and had been treating myself for a bleb, but I've also got these awful deep shooting pains in my boob after a feed. Have to take painkillers each time I feed from that side and dread it being 'righties' turn :(
Could it be thrush? Other boob seems ok and baby has no visible symptoms.
Living in Spain and tomorrow is a fiesta day so no doctor, plus not sure how knowledgable my doc will be about the finer points of boob trouble so I want to go in well prepared.
I can't carry on like this, it's so hurty it's making me want to stop bf :(
Any ideas welcome

Not really sure expresso, have you had a look on kellymom?

Chocolateporridge · 05/12/2012 22:01

I had this repeatedly during the 19 months that I bf my dd and it was definitely thrush. Giving my dd the oral medicine and using thrush cream on my nipple didn't work unless it was in conjunction with a high dose antifungal tablets treatment for me. It really is a horrible pain, you have my sympathies. I got the prescription once from an out of hours GP, do they have those where you are?

Thanks yes I did look on kellymom, that's what made me consider thrush as a possibility. I will go to the doc on Fri and if she also thinks thrush I'll make sure I get the tablets thanks for the tip chocolate.
Only doing two or three feeds a day now so I can cope for one more day :)

I had this and it was thrush. Go to the doctor and tell them that you have thrush they will be able to prescribe something an it should clear up quite quickly. Go now though as the longer you leave it the more painful it gets

Good luck and hope it's not too painful in the meantime :)

Sorry-wasn't telling you what to do-its just that (in my experience) drs dot have as much experience of thrush/breastfeeding as say a breastfeeding counsellor so just thinking it may be better for you to tell them you have thrush than say you think you may have thrush iygwim
