Weaning 22 Month Dd and Nutrition

Hi, I am in the process of weanimg dd as I am due dc2 in March. We are down to the last feed in the mornimg which if we just got up instead of bringing dd into bed would be quite easy to get rid of (I think).

Anyway Im wondering about her diet now she has only stopped the last feed a fortnight ago, but doesnt have cows milk from a cup. We have tried offering on quite a few occasions since she was 12 months but she either has a few sips and leaves it of ends up trying to empty the cup everywhere. She has cows milk with cereal and yoghurt/fromage frais as well as a cheese snack plus cheese or milk in dinner a few nights a week . How much. milk or dairy does she need? I'm slightly concerned about dropping the last feed as the times she hasnt had a feed in the morning hasnt really effected what she eats/drinks during the day.

Both of mine had a couple of clear months between stopping bfing and starting to drink cows milk. We got DS to drink it by offering semi skimmed for a couple of days. Dd was enticed with warm milk. Currently the NHS recommend 300ml of full fat cows milk per day between 12 and 24 months if bfing has ceased, but I don't think there is any recommendation after 24 months, and she is nearly that now.

She seems to be having dairy in her diet and the 300ml does include dairy in food. You can always offer her more calcium rich foods like sardines, salmon, eggy bread and even rice pudding.

Try not to worry too much, my DS turned into a right milk monster and still loves it at age 8.
