Tongue tie slowing growth?

4 month old triplet, been breast feeding and growing well until last 2 weeks. His weight has not changed since weighed 2 weeks ago. Sisters are growing well.
In that time he has had a really snotty cold (sisters were hospitalised with bronchiolitis) which did shorten his feeds but he was still feeding 6-7 times a day. One night he had quite a dry nappy but rest of the time normal wet nappies.
Today at weigh in HV remarked on a minor tongue-tie that hasn't previously been noted. He had always fed well, no pain or problem with latch so never considered it.
We are reweighing in 2 weeks time and if still no gain then will be referred for urgent tongue tie assessment.
Does this sound like a possible cause? Just surprised it has not caused a problem before now. Or could it just be the cold?

If he's not transferring milk well because of the TT, then yes, that could be the cause of the slow weight gain. Not everyone gets pain from BFing a TT baby.

Or in your case, babies. You're BFing triplets? Wow. Just, wow. Thanks

My dd had a tongue tie and I had no pain. People kept saying her latch was fine. But she kept taking down air and she is small. So yes it can cause problems even with no obvious symptoms.

And - triplets!!!

My tandem bf cushion is the secretGrin

What confuses me a bit is that his growth has been good upto 2 weeks ago, following corrected 50% curve. He hasn't been excessively fussy with the breast and feeds in 30-40mins. It has only been a problem in the last 2 weeks.
