How old is she? Are you bf or ff?
If bf you could try different feeding positions. See this thread: here
If she's formula fed, perhaps try a different type or contact GP/HV for advice on special formulas?

If you are bfing, has Lo been checked for tongue tie? If you are ff or mix feeding I'd try changing the formula.

Things that helped mine with wind were dentinox, no nappy time, a bath and baby massage. If you aren't sure how to do the massage there are videos on YouTube or your children's centre might run courses.

Some people also find that putting Lo in a sling in an upright position and going out for a walk helps too but you'd both have to wrap up warm today!

Ok, has she been checked for tongue tie?

elizaregina · 30/11/2012 19:12

no not yet I only read your suggestion late this afternoon, will ask someone to look for that - that could create wind?>

Yes, could easily be the cause. Is there a la Leche league leader near to you? The leader would be able to check for you or milk matters have a virtual diagnosis service.

Dollydowser · 30/11/2012 19:18

Can you pin point any foods that you eat that might be causing it? With mine it was bananas, gave her wind and green poo.

AmandinePoulain · 30/11/2012 19:18

Baby massage really helped my 16wo, far more than infacol or gripe water. I was taught to do 10 clockwise circles over her tummy, then
10 firm downward strokes, then hold her knees to her chest for 30 seconds, then repeat. I did it at every nappy change. You will hear (and smell!) the results Grin

Thanks every one for all suggestions - the poor thing is really struggling...I have been eating a afair bit of choclate and biscuits- DH read today that could cause it too...so will cut back on all that - and check tongue tie and seek out one of the leche places and also try the massage...

My other DD was always terribly sick - this one isnt sick just dreadful wind!

If she is suffering this evening I'd give one of the bfing helplines a call before it gets any later. I would also really recommend speaking to a BFC before you start eliminating foods from your diet Smile

Now I can do links I thought I'd bother you again Grin. Here goes:

List of Breastfeeding Support Groups you will probably find a BFC who can check for tongue tie.
