DD (10 months) bfeeds to sleep. At night, thats not a problem as I'm keen to keep up that feed for a long time to come but I need her to stop doing it during the day as I'm trying to substitute her mid-morning and afternoon feed by a snack.
She's having 3 solid meals a day at the moment and I really want/need to introduce snacks now but seriously how???? Just now I gave her yoghurt but after a few happy spoonfulls, she realised she was tired and then only wanted boob.
What do I do?

3 proper meals and a lot of bf by the sound of it seems to satisfy her....why do you want/need to give her snacks?
do tell - I'd like to help!

yes.why do.you want to stop the bfeeds?

If you wsnt to stop the feed to sleep association thr pantley pull off technique is supposed to be good. I did it a bit with ds2 and ds3. Its not a quick fix tho but does work.

It's all for very selfish reasons really.
Firstly, I'm going back to work in 2 months and am worried DD won't be able to go to sleep without me there. But actually I think she will be fine as DH will be with her and generally she falls asleep with him if he carries her around and sings.
Secondly, and probably more importantly for me, I want/need to get pregnant again next year March/April/May/June time and I'm worried that still bfeeding her so much will stop that from happening.
Like I said, she feeds mid-morning, afternoon, bedtime and about 3 times during the night. 6 feeds in total I would estimate. I just got my periods back so am trying to reduce feeds to increase fertility.

Honestly, if there wasn't the fertility thing, I'd quite happily feed her as much as she wants for as long as she wants. In fact, I feel quite guilty about pushing her a little to cut down feeds.

I hope that makes sense...

Well it sounds like she will be fine sleepwise with dh.

Its not selfish to want to cut down. To regain your fertility more you need big ie 6hr gap.in night feeds. The pantley pull off technique will help reduce the night feeds as well.

As i said its not a quick.fix but it is a gentle way of cutting down the feed to sleep asociation.

Is that the method where you don't let them fall asleep completly on the breast?
I'm generally quite the AP type so finding this all quite hard. DD used to to longer in the night without feeds but teething and colds have messed her sleep all up and the longest she sleeps in one stretch at the moment is propably 3 hours. We also co-sleep but I'm not willing to change that eventhough I know that that probably makes her want to feed more.

I wonder how likely it is that I can fall pregnant without the 6-hour feeding gap at night...

Yes its the method where you dont let them fall asleep.totally on breast and then if you want gradually shorten length of feed.

If you put it into search on mnet you should find stuff and if you.google i think its elizabeth pantlet pull.off technique.

I co-slept and bfed in the night and got preg twice!

Re night feeds my technic was the pull iff at bedtime and shush pat and then they gradually slept longer frim when rhet firsr went down at 8pmish? So rhet went till 11ish without a feed and gradually longer and longet untill midnight then the early.hoirs of the morning etc and eventually throufh till 5-6am.

I tandem fed with no 2 and 3 and then 3 and 4.

I could never leave them to cry so the pull off technique and a bit of shushh pat worked well.

If you.have your periods back then you stand a good chance of getting preg.

I fall.preg at the drop of a hat! Incredibly lucky. I think fertility is very random tbh.
