Best products to help with reflux? Please help

Hi, we have just realised that DD (premature, now 38 weeks) has silent reflux Sad.

We've started her on domperidone and ranitidine but also looking at items we can buy to help her be comfortable. There seem to be a lot of options out there. Can anyone recommend specific items (incl which brand, which version etc) that helped them? Need items which are suitable for tinies as she is only 6lb and obviously can't support her own head yet.

So far on my list:

A wrap or close carrier - but which one? Moby? Caboo?

A swing - which one is best?

A wedge of some sort for her Moses basket - at the moment we have used rolled towels, but she slides down. Are the wedges with a harness (tucker wedge/safe t sleep etc) worthwhile? Anyone tried the Res-q wedge? It is expensive but if it works I'd happily get it.

Anything else I should consider? Baby beanbag/doo moo?

We have a bouncy chair, it doesn't seem to help that much.

I am desperate for something that will ease her discomfort, she is so small and having a tough life so far.

Thank you

Ah, I'm sorry, I can't help but didn't want to read and run. All the best to you and your tiny babba x

Sorry not much help but my DS is suffering from colic/possible reflux and I have found that in the day time the moby wrap is a godsend. Eases and some times stops the pain and reduces my anxiety!

It's a faff to use but getting the hang of it gradually. Just check about premies first thou.

Good luck!!!

My Ds (now 14 months) had dreadful reflux combined with cmpi and colic. The first 3 months were hell then he switched to nutramigen prescription formula and the crying calmed down by 4 months although the puking didn't stop until 9.5 months.

My tips would be Aden and anais giant muslins. I was permanently swathed in one. They are not cheap but a normal sized one won't cut it. I sometimes see them at tk max a bit cheaper than normal.

He much preferred napping in his pram at a slight angle rather than flat and preferred being in a bouncy chair in the day rather than on his back.

Big wonderbibs. They have a waterproof backing do don't leak through to clothes. They get cold when they're wet though do you do need to change the bib frequently

Ds had gaviscon in his formula but none of the other meds helped. We also started weaning early on his consultants advice.

I remember one day trying to get us both dressed to pop to the shops took 6 hours and about 2 loads of washing.

Felt tremendously guilty I wasn't able to brestfeed this squirming screaming baby passed 12 weeks.

Just remember - this will pass. You will remember it but the baby won't and it is a torture you will get through. There is a reflux forum - I think called little refluxers which I found helpful

Good luck! Wink

Hiya, my dd was prem too (4lb3 when born) & is now 1 11 weeks. She has reflux (but judging by some of the threads on mumsnet not as bad as some). I have a Babasling (you can get them from babasling.co.uk or kiddicare). Lying baby down on their left side helps (there is no conclusive evidence that raising the head of the cot helps). If you're using gaviscon be prepared for constipation. Good luck!
