Mucous in Poo

DS is 19 weeks old and today had had more poos than usual (3 today, usual is one every day or 2). They've been a normal orangey colour, but they all have had quite a lot of mucous in them. He's been otherwise happy (in fact exceptionally 'content' today). Should I be worried?

He could have been constipated and this is the 'release' ?

What about the mucous though pancake flipper? Is that normal! He's had a cold, not so much now though and he is very dribbly...

Mucus is often with constipation or when your bowels are a little up and down. If he has had a cold it could be from that and it's his body getting rid of it.

My DS2 is 20 weeks and has had mucus in his poo he is EBF as well, he had cranial osteopathy and they said he had a head cold so nothing that you could see I.e. snot from the nose, but he has loads in his nappy. Also when he recently had a bit if a normal sniffle it affected his nappy, I think because they can't cough anything up it comes out the other end. When you say it's green do you mean the poo? How green is it, that can sometimes mean an irritated tummy I've been told it really has to be really green to the point you don't question if its yellow or green if that makes any sense..

Thanks Jezza, not it's not really green, it's sort of orangey with greenish patches (nice). So does that mean he doesn't have an irritated tummy if it's not green, green? I was worried I'd eaten something. Swallowing mucus due to cold and cough (he had quite a chesty one) would make sense. Let's hope it's that.

Sounds like snot/mucus to me. My LO has been all shades of brown orange and yellow and different consistencies but never bright green. He has even had 7 exploding nappies in a day after his head cold which I can only compare to mustard jelly. Xxx
