Ok so time has come to stop bf n move dd onto formula. But tbh I don't know where to start.

The tub says 3 7oz bottles a day. But when :-/ it was simple when bf she never had a set time so when in doubt I whipped them out

At almost 9 months do I use a bottle or sippy cup?

At 9 months do I have to still sterilise?

Can u make them in advance n warm them up when u need?

I'm an emotional wreck and something that seems so simple has thrown me

Use a sippy cup since you're supposed to phase bottles out at 12 months of age anyway. If your DC's never had a bottle, it's highly unlikely they'll take one anyway. I'll occasionally sterilise DS's sippy cup but I don't think it's necessary after 6 months. The Tommee Tippee First Cup has measurements on the side.

No idea about formula quantities, sorry.

She's had bottles of ebm before but on the slowest teat. So would need faster ones. We have the TT sippee cups for With meals she's good with it but really messy

From experience I would use bottles and just buy a few types of teats, mine is nearly 1 and never used the fast flow teats so just see what is best maybe start with the number 2 / medium flow ones. Yes sterilise all teats and bottles used for milk until the baby is 12 months.

Personally I use a microwave steriliser then fill the next 24 hours worth of bottles with 8oz of boiling water while the bottles are still hot. When needed pop the formula (usually 7 scoops with that I think, but check on the box) then microwave for 20/25 seconds but shake shake shake the bottle.

Bottles can be made and stored in the fridge for 24 hrs so before bed, make up three 7oz bottles and put into the fridge..Use the first one half on her cereal and see if she drinks the rest. Give her the second one after lunch amd before her nap if she wants it and the last for bedtime.

Out of the fridge they are good for an hour - so I take dds bedtime bottle out of the fridge at 5pm and it gets to room temp by 6pm when she has it after her bath.

Ah thanks guys that makes a bit more sense. Going to be starting them next week and 3 7oz seemed a lot in one sitting but like suggested an afternoon one being split pre and post nap makes sense Smile
