Do they work? I'm talking abou the ones you flex then re-activate in boiling water. They cost about £12 in various catalogues. Anyone got one? DD2 drinks milk from a beaker but only when it's warm and I'm getting fed up with carting boiling water around restaurants etc.

No they're crap don't buy one! Better to buy the fisherprice flask with beaker around it. We have both and have only used the gel one once, it didn't heat the milk up and then wouldn't re-activate properly in boiling water.

Don't buy one of those that plug in to the car cigarette lighter either -they're crap too

Agree that they're rubbish. It definitely rates as our worst buy. Doesn't heat anything no matter how long you give it

Thanks for your feedback. I guess dd2 will just have to drink the milk cold. I can't carry on heating it forever.

Springintheair - no buy the fisherprice flask thing its about £10 and is fantastic, you can get it from boots or mothercare or even superdrug I think, it keeps water hot all day and heats up 2 or three bottles throughout the day without you having to fill it up again.

This was one of my best buys - I use everytime we go out.

we had one (still do for next one) found it great for being in the car on long journeys (did alot when dd was tiny) as you can click it to heat up about 20 mins before you knwo you need it while you are drving and then stop to feed baby without having to wait iyswim. re activating was a bit of a fag but 10 mins in oan of water or steam steriliser worked for us. think mine came from boots. each to there own with gadgets i guess but for me a great one.

I used to use the flask type also... bought it 20+ years since ... it was made by Cannon in those days. I didnt know they still made them. I wish I could find my old one now for my grandbabies ... When we started weaning it was handy for warming up jars or using the water to mix dried baby foods when out in the car.

Im glad I read this, because I nearly bought one of those reusable bottle warmer things ...

If you have a normal flask in the cupboard I suppose this would do if you took your own beaker or jug.
