Hello, I need some advice
My DD is 5 weeks today, and EBF,but very very unsettled baby. She's sleeps o.k in night, feeding every 3-4 hours, but days are hell. She been checked by paediatrician, and he said she is absolutely fine, and I have to put up with her screaming. She's been also seen 3 times by cranial osteopath, but it didn't work,I think.
I am at the end of my tether with her,I don't know what else I can do,so I thought maybe I should give up BF and FF feed her instead?maybe then she'll become happy baby? Any advice ,please?

Its a myth about the calm formula fed babies - ours was a bit worse after the swap and definitely during the transition. If she is growing well then BF is working well for you, I wouldnt swap in the hope it will calm her. Bear in mind they are all better when they are distracted so you never see other peoples babies at their worst, only your own! And people are very loose with the truth when saying how their baby is getting on at home, also as time goes on people with older babies forget the pain and forget their baby was that bad.

I remember 4-6weeks being my worst time ever as a mum, and repeating as a mantra 'the crying peaks at 6 weeks, the crying peaks at 6 weeks'. It was a long 2 weeks waiting for it, but it did, and things have gotten steadily better since. I hope it will for you too!

I haven't read the replies on this thread (intentionally) so apologies if this now does not fit but.......

I say go with YOUR gut instinct, if you think your baby will benefit from ff then do it. You could introduce one or two top up bottles (as my HV called them) and continue to BF also. I did this twice, I can only go off my experience obviously but neither babies were confused and they readily took breast or bottle day or night.

Good luck Smile
