My dd2 is 16 weeks and some nights it's ok but she's feeding little and often at the min and ends up having heavy nappies. I then change her as she's fidgety but it then wakes her up

when he stopped pooing several times every night, about 3 months for DS2. we do get the odd random 2am poo, but not often.

i do check it if he gets wriggly as that sometimes means he's sprung a leak, but most times he's ok till morning.

He's always been ok til morning - it is v v heavy by then but he seems not to care and his skin is fine.

I've never really changed his nappy at night. He gets changed at 9 o'clock and then unless there is pop leaking out of it, I change it again at about 7 in the morning. It is heavy in the morning but when I changed it at night a couple of times he became awake and wanted to not sleep!!! I can feed him without waking him up now, so I don't bother as it doesn't seem to bother him.

When he stopped waking up. Don't wake a sleeping baby! If you're worried about skin, just lather on the sudocreme.

She stays asleep feeding the majority of the time but I feel it sometimes and think shall I? Or not? Last night I didn't and she'd leak at 5am so was fidgeting lots because she was wet. Fed and changed her and out her in our bed then went back off luckily.

She usually goes to bed about 630/7 when dd1 does. Then I feed at about ten. But she is still asleep, so I don't bother to change her :s if she wakes I do

If the nappies do.leak it might be worth using a size bigger at night.

Littleraysofsunshine · 19/09/2012 08:46

Maybe I just need to always change at the 10pm feed and she'll be fine. But will this intervene when getting routine fir bed kike dd...She's fine most nights but heavy in the morning..

It's funny I've done all of this 22m ago with dd1 but for some reason I doubt myself! Lol

i only ever changed them if they were pooey or REALLY wet, if the napppy is leaking go up a size! and yes change when you go to bed or in the evening, when they are still tired, not in the early hours of the morning when they may wake and then stay awake as htey have had a chunk of sleep!

ZuleikaD · 19/09/2012 09:10

I only changed them if they were dirty - if you're worried about wetness then just use the next nappy size up.

Ds stopped pooing in the night around the 8 wk mark thankfully, I used to still change him then I realised a wet nappy doesn't bother him in the slightest. It's bloody heavy when I do change him though :)

She very rarely poos at night only if she hasn't done one in a few days and is due an explosion !
