Nursing bra in big cup size for when milk comes in?

Hello,
I am expecting DC2 at some point in the next few weeks and remembered that I am probably going to need some bigger bras, at least temporarily, for when my milk comes in. I am already wearing an H cup, so I am guessing that I should probably be investing in somewhere around a J? Can anyone recommend any nursing bras please, preferably with a little flexibility in it in case I'm not quite right? Also, if possible, at the cheaper end of the spectrum - hopefully this will only be a temporary increase ignores fact that cup size has been strictly increasing since first pregnant with DC1 but whether it is or not, I will invest in some longer term bras when DC2 is a month or two old and things have settled down a bit.

Not sure red but this should bump for you.

Hallo. I am not blessed with anything like h cups, so my advice may not be that good to you. For me, the Dolly Partonesque boobs only lasted a couple of days, so not worth getting special bras for. I had the body silk bravado ones, which are suitable for changing cup sizes and these were fine. I was measured for them near the end of my pregnancy, and they lasted for all of my 15 months or so of feeding. But I have seen larger busted ladies complain that they don't offer enough support and they're expensive. So not that helpful...sorry! But I wouldn't bother with a special milk coming in bra.

The NCT online shop has big cup bras (I'm in a K at the mo, with an estimated L for milkyness) which are basic to look at, but not too expensive, and very comfy.
www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk has a fab selection, and they are happy for you to order lots and return, or keep trying etc. I'll definitely be using them to get my longer term bras after things have settled.

i had a nightmare getting nursing bras as i was a 32 g pre pregnancy. i went up to a hh and finding something to give me support was damn near impossible. i ended up wearing sports bras during my pregnancy. i found that debenhams has a nursing bra that was slightly moulded and very comfortable. Miriam stoppard nurture bra. i have bought these again as im still feeding and my size has changed. i bought over 20 different bras from various shops and sites and these were my fave. i think it £22 for 2

Thanks all for your help.

WhiteShoes something like the Bravado Silk ones with their multi-size fit would be perfect, but Bravado seem to only suggest they fit up to about an E or F cup, so I unfortunately I don't think they'd work for me.

MummyWeatherWax the NCT shop was a good idea. The NCT comfort bra looks like the kind of thing I'm looking for. They've been selling off stock in a sale so don't have a full range of sizes at the moment, but I'll keep an eye on it in case more appear in the next week or two. Nursingbra-shop seems very competitively priced for the main other options out there, so they may be a good option.

MamaWharton - I agree Debenhams stock some good options in bigger cup sizes - indeed I've been wearing some of their bras in this pregnancy and wish I'd discovered them before. However, even they seem to stop at an HH. Having said that, I might go up a band size and get a two pack of HHs, as while the support might not be the best, they might do in the early weeks - and if it's completely wrong, they will at least be easy to return.

For the particular size I want, I appear to be able to get a Panache Sophie, or a Royce Sadie or Charlotte (and that appears to be all!) on the sites I've checked. Does anyone have any opinions on any of these?

I'm a similar size, had baby 5 weeks ago and yet to find a bra I'm completely happy with. Bought the panache Sophie one as I had it during pregnancy and liked it. Wore it in a 34 back then but went to bravissimo afterwards and they recommended it in a 32 back. However I found it much too tight and they didn't have it in a larger size. Have 2 of the Royce sadie. Cup sizes seem quite big but generally the bra is ok. Not crazy about the fabric, it's polyester and can get a bit hot and uncomfortable (might be just me but breast feeding seems to raise my body temp). The one I like most is an Emma Jane one that is all cotton. Can't remember which one it is but got it from 'from here to maternity' online and it wasnt too expensive. However I checked recently to get another and couldn't find it! I did spot a bravado one that went up to L size i think on the same site though and they had quite a few more in H + cups as well so might be worth checking them out. Bravissimo are good if you go to a store. Not a huge selection but very flexible with returns! Hope that's helpful.. Nursing bras are complicated!

the only one of those i liked (and kept ) was the panache sophie. figleaves were amazing at letting me buy a good selection of bras and sizes and even extended my return period til a few weeks after my dd was born

bras4mums.co.uk do a semi-custom fit nursing bra by Bravado that covers about 2 band sizes & 3 cup sizes. It is not the best style or support but is very comfy & easy to use in the middle of the night! That website offers great customer service over email or phone so I would definitely recommend contacting them & asking their advice.

Thanks - I hadn't come across that one before. It's probably a bit more than I'd planned to spend, but then I could continue to use it as a sleep bra so it might last longer. Will have a think about it.
