What light do you use for night feeds?

I need a new solution as DC2 is due in a couple of months.

With DS I had a pocket PC which has now died. It was good as it wasn't very bright and turned itself off after a certain length of time. I'm not going to get another though as it cost £100.

I have a Kindle cover with a light, but that's too bright.

I need something not too bright, preferably that turns itself off. Something that can be shoved under the pillow to reduce the brightness is ideal. My 2.8 y.o. will be sharing the bedroom with us so I don't want anything which will be bright enough to disturb him.

Any ideas?

I'm sticking with my ipod and MNing in the dark hours. Its good enough to see for what I need.

I just leave the hall light on with the door slightly ajar. Ds 1 is going through a 'bad dream' phase so it works for us.
What about a plug in nightlight?

I use Phillips electric candles, they're fab.

I have a torch app.on my.phone that I use. I also shove it under the pillow! It has varying degrees of brightness and switches itself off after a while.

I've also been known to put a towel over my bedside lamp shade and ensure it doesn't get hot but that's probably a bit dangerous

I fed by the light of my iPhone in the early days, but DS soon learned to latch on himself so didn't need one for long.

Our baby monitors (very simple plug in kind) have a nice glowy orange light that gives just enough light to see by These ones or maybe something like the Grobag egg might work? Gentle enough light so it doesn't wake anyone else, but enough to see by...

I used a lava lamp that I turned on and off as needed.

My bedside lamps have three brightness settings and they are touch ones. Only £15 for two from Argos :)

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think something like the Gro Egg or a nightlight might work so I'll do some research. I need something that stays cool as our mattresses are on the floor for co-sleeping purposes, so the lights will be at baby/toddler level.

I often used the laptop with DS so I could feed and MN, but with co-sleeping from the start this time, I'm hoping to sleep through a lot more feeds.

I have a gro egg and don't think the light is good enough to see by so don't recommend that. We use the light from the baby monitor too.
