Any thrush experts around?

A couple of days ago I noticed 13 month old DS had white patches in his mouth (though he is a bit cagey about it so hard to get a good look). From last night he also has a livid pink scaly rash on his nappy area which Dr Google thinks could be a thrush rash (though I am struggling with the difference between this and normal nappy rash). His rash hasn't responded to Daktarin or Sudocreme so have just put some Trimovate on.

We are still bfing. I have no symptoms. However, nearly 4 yo DD (who I am also still bfing) has had an itchy rash on her nappy area for 2.5 years now, which, amazingly, started when I had bad thrush (sorry). Hers doesn't respond to Daktarin either so we treat with Trimovate when it flares up. I have occasionally suggested it might be thrush caught from me via breastfeeding but this has been poohpoohed by various GPs Hmm

So now I have two children, each with possible thrush symptoms (though suspect DD's might have mutated by now) and me as the common thingummy.

I think the obvious thing to do (?) is to treat all three of us for thrush but having read up on it in the past trying to sort DD's rash out, it seems to be almost impossible to get proper treatment from the GP.

Can anyone help me work out what I need to ask for? Nystatin for mouth(s?), fluocazone (or whatever it's called) for ten days for me? For them as well? Help :(

This leaflet is really helpful:

Hi, I had the same problem with one of mine and so did my sister. One thing I have found that really helps (even now if I get a bout of thrush) is to take something called Citricidal. It's made from grapefruit seed extract, you can buy it in health food stores and it's a very powerful anti fungal. As you are still breastfeeding if you take it then it will kill your infection and then filter through to him. It tastes quite bitter and you have to dilute a few drops in a large glass of water. It normally takes three days to work for me, but it depend on the severity of your infection.

Something else which is helpful is a probiotic called Threelac. It's a powdered probiotic in a nice natural fruit flavour. Again you can take this but also it's safe for the baby to take. With oral thrush they recommend rubbing some of the powder on the affected parts in the mouth, you continue to do so daily until it clears up. But there is a website and customer service number you can call for advice. Hope that helps.
