Help! Biting, bottle refusing 8 month old

My lovely dd is EBF, is now cutting her first tooth and has taken to chomping hard on my nipples (ouch!)
I have tried all the techniques for stopping this behaviour but it isn't working, if anything she is now doing it more often (I put her down immediately which she hates so not reinforcing it). I love bfing, but have now reached the point where I don't think I can carry on, my nipples are in agony and it no longer feels like a bonding experience, it's just bloody painful!

The issue I have is that dd refuses to drink milk from a cup, beaker or bottle. I have expressed this morning and she has taken 1oz from her tommy tippee first cup but refusing anymore. I have given her more porridge than usual but am concerned about how much breast milk she'll have. She has 3 good meals a day, plus snacks, and has been having 3 milk feeds during the day, plus up to 4 a night!
Any advice about how much milk DD needs, how to get her to take it, and how to go about stopping breastfeeding would be very much appreciated!

When she bites, have you tried pushing her towards you? This worked for us.

I am wanting to move onto combined feeding . DD is 8 months . I can only get her to take an oz of formula from a plastic beaker. No idea whether this will increase on its own , and am worried about milk amounts . So am watching this thread.

Not tried that showtunes, will try it next time it happens. Was ready to give up this morning, but after no luck with the cup, and a bite-free feed this afternoon I'm feeling a bit more positive. I waited until she was really really hungry before feeding her, going to see if she can manage 4 hours between feeds tonight and see if that also makes a difference. Thanks for your reply!

arctic if we come across any methods that work with the combined feeding I will post on here - she point blank refuses formula and expressed milk just gets wasted after a couple of sips - so frustrating!

It has taken about 6 weeks to get her to take some formula. My stepson made the breakthrough . Good luck.

I have found that the biting is worse at certain times when the mouth feels different and they then can't latch on as they normally would - I had a terrible time a couple of nights ago where my DS (7 months) was obviously in pain and just couldn't do it. He has cut 2 bottom teeth and most of the time, it is absolutely fine and the tongue covers them. I would persevere as I'm sure in time your LO will adjust their latch.
