Ds2 is 8mnths and i think iwant to stop bfing. I go back to work soon and it will be easier for babysitters if i've got this sorted first. He's still getting up during the night and i'm sick of being the one getting up all the time watching dp sleep makes me murderous. I can't remember how i managed it with ds1 does anyone have any tips? How long until i should get measured again for real bras?

I dropped a feed at a time, letting supply settle down between each one I dropped. Any feeds which resulted in a nap were the last ones to go!

thanks Soup yes i'll be keeping the most important feeds til last he does still seem to want to feed quite a lot but it might just be my perception. Ds1 is so neglected i'll be glad to be able ti spend more one on one with him before he goes completely feral.

I hung mine up three months ago (yay). DS was 12 months.

We dropped the night feed first by DH going to him and soothing him when he woke. Took a couple of nights before he realised it was a waste of time waking up.

GP suggested dropping one feed every five days, I don't know if this was because I had mastitis or whether it's the norm but it definitely worked very easily for us. Last feeds to go were morning nap and bedtime.

Tbh, those have been a lot easier now that we're ff as there's more structure and predictability ie. 6oz bottle then put into cot for sleep, whereas before I was feeding on demand whenever.

I'm a bit Envy at you doing 12 mnths , i meant to do that long with ds1 but kind of weaned by accident. This time around i just can't face the thought of the whole year although no doubt i'll get sad that this is definitely the last time i'll be doing all this.

I'm bumping this to ask if it is worth faffing with bottles now he's nearly 8 months or should i just use a cup. I don't like sippys because they're impossible to clean.

I've no experience really but I don't think one is more faffy than the other - stick it all in the dishwasher - job done.

I went to bottles, but I think it might have been psychological - I loved playing dollies when I was a little girl!

Don't be Envy about me lasting 12 months - I should have given up much much earlier as DS2 was biting and being a real bully. I was a martyr and ended up with mastitis!

I am hanging mine up too and kind of sad about it but dd is two years, two weeks and four days and does not sleep more than a few hours at a time. I did night wean but with every tooth comes another feeding frenzy

it will be amazing to eat and drink whatever I want again!

I'm looking forward to packing away my easy access clothes. You have my sympathies with the teething hell Eyes, we're just starting and i'd forgotten how much fun it is. Mastitis us the devils work Notin. I know what you mean about psychological, I'm thinking bottles so that he still gets the comfort of sucking even if it is a different technique.
