Bottle feeding - to wake in the day ?

I am formula feeding my 9 week old and she sleeps 9/10 hours at night. The pack says she might need 5 feeds a day do we try and fit these in . Sometimes she is asleep tho and the last feeds can get very condensed before our bedtime. Typically 8am, 11.30 , 3,6 and 9 . If she is asleep for any length of time I end up waking her as in the evening she may need feeding every couple of hours . How go others cope ? Do you wake them or leave them. If she only had 4 feeds she would unlikely get her recommended intake .... And we don't want up stay up later... As she is sleepinh through this would seem pointless anyway !

How many ounces does she fit in from those feeds?

If she is sleeping through and taking plenty of milk during the day then it could be that she is happy with this. DD was going 10pm-5am from about that age, so some babies are happier quite young without food for that length of time.

One option would be to move the feeds during the day together slightly - 8, 11, 2, 4, bedtime - and then try a dreamfeed?

She is having about 20- 23 oz per day. Maybe she is fine to carry on like this. I just felt bad waking her for some feeds but it seems to be working .....

DD has never taken a huge amount of food, she went through a phase where 24oz was all she took. I'd try moving the feeds forward a bit to see if you can get another one in but in general, as long as her nappies are wet and she seems healthy she is probably eating enough. Guidelines are only guidelines, after all, and your baby will let you know if she is hungry!

(If you are worried, though, check with your HV as I'm just talking to you from experience, not from training!)

I would just do whatever you are both happiest with. I used to wake ds otherwise he wouldn't get all of his feeds in and he would be grumpy and hungry and generally unsettled that his routine had been disrupted. Had he been happy with less feeds then I probably would have left him to sleep. I could have added a dream feed in but it just didn't feel right to wake him at night and feed him while sleepy whereas in the day if we woke him for food he would wake properly iyswim
