Exercises after tongue tie snip at 10 weeks

Hi. Our LO has just had his tongue tie snipped again (and a decent amount this time) at 10 weeks. Slight difference to a newborn insofar that they use local, cauterise and then snip, as the frenulum is already more fibrous.

I remember posters mentioning exercises to prevent a t-t from reattaching, but cannot find specific examples. Can anyone help please?

Thanks

At the clinic I remember them saying to try to get the babies to copy you poking their tongue out. Feeding lots helps too.

I think one of the things we were told was to put a finger on each gum and get them to try touch it with their tongue.

here about half way through, he describes the stretches and massages that need to be done.

If there are little fibres reattaching, then you need to burst them

Also, tt release should also be done in conjunction with a bodyworker (eg cranial osteopath) to help release the tensions created by compensating for a tongue tie.

Fantastic, thanks. The link is a great document. I've got some baby bongela so can use that. Given pushing up the tongue a go - he makes it look much easier in the picture than in real life!

Good luck!

My 6yo is having his tt and lip tie lasered soon and I am not looking forward to doing the stretches. Sad
