5mnth old dd ebf. Rung NHS direct cos she isn't herself. Primary Care have rung us with advise but they said to give her a bottle of water?! And what seems more bizzare that it's completely normal for a baby to skip a day of feeding

WTAF ?! This can't be true. The girl is an every 90 min for 30 mins kinda baby

er no not normal for a baby who's not on solids. Maybe a trip to your gp is in order, small babies can get dehydrate quit quikly.

Defiantly offer water of she's not feeding but do take her to the docs to.

Call again, and hopefully you'll get someone more useful, and maybe insist that you want her to be seen by someone? For example, could she have an ear infection that's making it uncomfortable to feed?

Never heard of them not feeding for a day Shock surely she'd be thirsty if nothing else! water is hardly the answer to why she isn't interested in the first place, though it might help prevent worst of dehydration until the problem can be found.

Lol that tit bit of info came from some triage nurse from primary care. Dh said skipping a day isnt normal in his book

Anyway we got seen at primary care. The dr was a lot better. She's not dehydrated, he thinks she has a virus n just keep feeding her whether she's interested or not. He showed us how to check for dehydration n was adamant any change to go back.

In the 5 months I've had dd I've never had this many problems with hcp. The past 21 weeks have just been one battle with them after another and I hate them

OP, that is shocking! Of course it's not normal for a baby to go without.

My friend had the same thing happened to her with her DS and they went to hospital to get it checked out. Turned out he had a virus and needed anti-biotics.
