breastfeeding and bra question

Finished bfing when dd was 7 months old (now 8.5 months). Planning to ttc again in dec. Should I stick to non wired bras as I've only finished bfing and want to ttc soon so not to damage any milk ducts or can I wear underwire until I am actually pg again? Thanks.

This one never really occured to me Alabama, hopefully this will bump it for you.

you can wear wired bras through pregnancy so long as they are well fitted, the wire should not be putting pressure on anything. You can even buy underwired nursing bras. The no wires thing is a bit of a myth.

Thank you both, I didn't realise I could wear underwire bras, thank you.

Yes, definitely ok as long as it fits properly.

This Anita bra is fantastic - very comfortable but also supportive, looks almost like a normal bra.

Really recommend it - but make sure you buy a larger cup size than you need as their sizing is weird. So if you need 36DD order 36E.

At a 36HH and fed up at the nightmare that is nursing bras I experimented with adapting normal bras with clips off other bras and having tried the Elomi I finally found my solution. Buy huge great ruck sack type clips the same width as the straps cut the straps, add a bit of ribbon and sew them on. The clips sit in the hollow of my shoulder so don't ruin the lining of my clothes or dig in. It works for me.
I got fitted with my bra at Bravissimo and they where marvellous. I hadn't got on with my Elomi bra as I had the wrong size, though they don't make the size I really needed, when I dropped the cup my boob fell though the wide A frame and left me looking a right state, it took ages to man handle everything back in place. Having said that it's still the best nursing bra available for me to buy.

I went back into underwired bras when DF was about 7 months and dropped a few feeds. Until then nursing bras were more convenient.

They were fitted by bravissimo and I've had no problems. I had Anita underwired nursing bras before that which were good but not as good as a normal bra!
