Dd is 5mo and her first tooth has just broke the surface. ITS BLOODY SHARP and she finds it a game to bite me with it and pull away Angry
anyone got any advice regarding breastfeeding and those little razor teeth?!!

Urgh, my DD bit me last week with her first tooth and drew blood! She'd bitten me a few times around 5 months but didn't have teeth there. I'd pop my finger in (if I was quick enough!) to de-latch her and she did learn but I think now sometimes she does it v occasionally when her teeth are bothering her as she's getting her second now. I've also read that if you don't want to stick your finger in to de-latch them, you should pull them into your breast so they can't breath and then they release but TBH, my instinct tells me to get the baby away from me when she's hurting me, not bring her closer.
I do feel for her though (as well as myself!) because she's only doing it because her teeth are bothering her.

Everyone told me that bf when teething wouldn't hurt - they lied! That said, it will pass - at least it has ime. I think when the teeth first come through it takes a while for the baby to adjust to where they are. Ds now has 12 of the blighters - each time there has been a few days to a week of painful feeding (little razors, like you say), but he then seems to change his latch so they no longer dig in. I also unlatch and try again if it is too painful. If i'm feeling a bit sore i go back to using a bit of lansinoh until he's learnt to accomodate his new gnashers. Good luck - i doubt she's hurting you on purpose!

Every time DS got a new tooth he would struggle with his latch for a couple of days. Lots of Lansinoh helped as well as using an exaggerated latch and unlatching him to try again if it was too painful.
