Bright green poo in ebf 10wk baby - do I need to worry?`

DS turns 10 weeks today and is ebf. Until a couple of days ago, he has been doing the usual mustard coloured, seedy ebf poos. In the past couple of days, he has done one of those a day, a couple of skid marks of the same colour but then his other big poo has been a green sludgy colour. He's just done his morning poo (he's quite a predicatable pooer!) and its been a nuclear green colour. The thing it most reminded me of (in terms of colour at least) was the seaweed you get at a Chinese restaurant. He's also a bit snuffly so is coming down with/has a cold. Other than that, he's well in himself, alert & smiling lots

Do I need to worry? I don't remember DD ever having poos like this but then she was a 1-poo-every-10-days girl.

Thanks

My children were very regular, going several times a day, but they only had green poo when they weren't well. I think it is caused by things being processed too quickly, have Calpol ready to deal with a high temperature if he gets worse and call your doctor's surgery if it continues.
As long as he is happy and continues to feed he should be back to normal quickly.

Thanks! He's done a few poos since all of which have been normal bf poos but he had done more than normal so I'm keeping an eye on him. Luckily, he continues to seem well.

My DD's been having 'sea-weedy' poo for a few weeks, on and off, without any other symptoms. She's 11 weeks and gaining weight well. I took her to the doctor recently to check up on it and was told it wasn't normal and to take a sample and they'd check for a GI tract infection.
Not heard back yet, but I'm not sure where we'll go with it if the sample comes back normal.
Having looked about online, it does seem to be fairly common. One thing I have read is that a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance can cause green poo, i.e. too much foremilk. I do have a forceful letdown, so sometimes DD does get a lot of watery letdown milk, especially if we're in public and I can't express as much beforehand.
Sounds like with your LO it might be cold-related though?
Hope he's back to normal soon:)

green poos are common in BF babies especially if they have had a little bit too much foremilk!

As a one off it's fine if the baby's otherwise well. Both ds and dd did/do this when coming down with a cold.
