Exactly that. DS2 is 17 days old and for the last couple of days I have felt my appetite increasing. I have a healthy and balanced diet and don't want to snack in between on just rubbish.

Planning to do a big shop tomorrow so suggestions would be appeciated Smile

Make sure you're eating lots of protein and good fats. Crackers and cheese, hummus and oatcakes, avocados, bananas.

Otherwise you'll just be raiding the biscuit jar/ dc sweet tin < bitter experience/ expanding waist line>

I became dangrously addicted to mini flapjacks - esp M&S ones in the big tub. They were the only thing that hit the spot and I ate a tub a day for about 4 months.

I lost 3 stone.

If you want to be healthy then complex carbs, and don't mistake thirst for hunger - make sure you're drinking plenty of fluids, day and night.

Enjoy your lovely baby, and remeber they do often have a wee growth spurt at 3 or 4 weeks so if feeds increase just go with it, and eat lots of flapjacks health food.

I still miss the flapjacks.

Thank you both for your advice, didn't manage to get to the shops today but will defo tomorrow -I fear today I've gone the way of the buscuit jar! Love all the things that you suggest and like the fact that they don't need much prep Grin. May have to check out those M&S flapjacks too though as my sugar craving has returned with a vengeance...

whatin - Good point regarding mistaking thirst for hunger, though I do drink lots I probably do that at times.

More suggestions welcome

Tea loaf or malt loaf spread with loads of butter.
Fruit cake
Flapjacks
Cereal bars
Smoothies - homemade
Big bowls of cereal
Omelettes / fried egg sarnie
Bananas
Mr Kipling cakes

You can see I had very healthy tastes!

Am exactly the same. Dd 5 weeks and I could eat all day and even wake up at night hungry!
Have been many eating bowls of alpen, dried apricots, berries, cracker bread and cottage cheese, biscuits and a truck load of chocolate.
Also drink about 8 pints water a day.
Well done on feeding your lo too

Roasted mixed nuts
Blt & brie sandwiches (made by dh!)
Soup
Fruit with Greek yoghurt on top
Bananas
Mini mars bars for middle of the night (take to bed with you!)

Bowls and bowls of cereal. I got through whole boxes of Rice Krispies in a very short time.

Cheese and crackers became my snack, mostly because I was worried my teeth would fall out with all the junk I was eating.

Runningblue · 29/07/2012 21:46

Ooh yes cheese and crackers- forgot about those.
For a bit of variation, don't butter the crackers, put your slices of cheese on the crackers, put on plate, and bung in the microwave for about 10-20 seconds. V nice with a bit of sweet chilli sauce on the top.

I've rediscovered crumpets - v convenient and easy to hold in one hand. Lovely with melted cheese on top too.
